Monster trucks, music and theater make for a great weekend

It only happens one weekend every three years, but this weekend is your chance to witness one of the best kept secrets in Orange.

The Service League of Orange will hold its largest fundraiser of the year this weekend at the Lutcher Theater in downtown Orange. The production, based on the theme “Hollywood Nights - A Journey Through The Movies,” is filled with glamour, glitz, and star studded appearances by local and regional performances.

Directed by Kevin and Brook Doss, the Follies is a great way to enjoy an evening of quality entertainment while helping a worthwhile organization help others.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m., tonight and Saturday, and tickets are $20 for floor seating and $10 for balcony seating.

Dylan’s

The Jimmy Kaiser Band returns to Mid-County as the band performs in concert tonight at Dylan’s on Ninth Avenue in Port Arthur. Then, on Saturday, regional act Cowlick is back for another big time evening of fun. Admission is charged at the door for ages 21 and older. Call 409-722-1600 for more information.

The Boudain Hut

Whether it is the food or the music, you know both are enjoyable at The Boudain Hut on Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur.

Live music is featured from Creole Cookin’ tonight and Saturday, while Ridin’ High is the featured artist on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday. Also, karaoke is now featured from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m., every Tuesday. Call 409-962-5079 more information.

Porky’s

Located on Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur, Porky’s invites ages 21 and older to stop in and enjoy karaoke tonight and Saturday. Ages 21 and older are invited and admission is free. Call 409-548-4881 for information.

The Place

Ages 21 and older are invited to The Place for fun and music this Saturday as Smokey Rodrigues is featured from 8 p.m. to midnight. Admission is always free. Call 409-736-2650 for details.
