PORT ARTHUR — Clint Martin, the head pro at Bayou Din Golf Club since 2003, is leaving Friday to take a job in the petrochemical industry. Martin, who spent 16 years in the golf business, is being replaced by Bayou Din assistant pro John Allen. Allen has been with Martin since 2008. Prior to that, he spent 2007-2008 as an assistant at The Palms at Pleasure Island. One of Martin’s biggest responsibilities in recent years had been heading up the Southern Texas PGA Junior Program. “Without a doubt, the thing I will miss most is working with juniors,” Martin said. “It has been a pleasure working with Ed Campbell on the STPGA Junior Program, as well as the Southeast Texas Junior Tour. I wish all of the current players the best of luck in the future.” . . . The team of Jim Jordan, Tom Lawton, Roger Koch and Harold Wilkinson finished won the Babe Zaharias DogFight with 19 points. Second with 18 points was the foursome of Andrew Sigur,  Bill Hanley, Darrel McKee and Malcolm Tiller. Third went to the team of Adam Noel, Larry Johnson, Charles Leard and Bob Moore. They had 17 points. Closest to the hole winners were Roger Koch (No. 2), Richard Sibley (No. 7), Bob Moore (No. 12) and Jim Jordan (No. 15) . . . The Senior 50 Plus Game at The Babe was played in a 2 ball format. On the front, the team of Jim Jordan, Thad Borne, Marc Petry and Malcolm Tiller won with minus 5. The back was won in minus 3 by the foursome of Richard Briggs, Harrell Guidry, Gary Anderson and Carl Certa . . . The Super Saturday Game at The Babe was also played in a 2 ball format. Winning with minus 2 on the front was the team of Craig Fontenot, Joe Gongora, Ivory Hatch and Charlie Huckaby. Posting even par to win the back was the team of Larry Thompson, Rick Pritchett, Butch Landry and Lee Bertrand . . . Twyman Ash won the Monday Seniors at Belle Oaks with plus 2. Bill Taylor was closest to the pin winner on No. 15 . . .
