PN-G 7-on-7 goes winless

COLLEGE STATION — The Port Neches-Groves 7-on-7 team went 0-3 Friday at the state tournament in College Station.

Plano first took down PN-G by a score of 39-13.

The Indians did pick off Plano twice, one interception each for Avery Murdock and another for Ky Walker.

PN-G’s throwing attack led by Walker and Adam Morse went 14-for-28 in the game. The Indians gained 63 yards in the first half and 51 in the second for a total of 114 yards.

Morse threw two touchdowns in the second half, one to Caison Sullivan and another to Kaleb Sparks.

PN-G then lost a closer game to Houston Lamar, 26-19.

The Indians gained 236 yards against Lamar and scored in the first half on a touchdown from Morse to Sparks. Walker threw a pair of touchdowns in the second half. Cole Girouard had one touchdown reception and Sullivan had the other.

Murdock picked up his second interception of the day.

Walker finished 12-for-17 in the game while Morse was 5-for-14.

The Indians day ended with a 40-33 loss to Azle which sends PN-G to the consolation bracket on Saturday . PN-G had 290 total yards in the game as Walker went 24-for-30 as quarterback. He connected with Jack Giblin for three touchdowns in the contest and with Sparks for two.
