Titans, Bulldogs hope to regain confidence

NEDERLAND — The Port Arthur Memorial Titans and Nederland Bulldogs did not have the type of showing at this past weekend’s YMBL Tournament either team expected to have going into the weekend.

Nederland lost its first game to Putnam, Oklahoma City, Okla. 63-54 and then failed to reach the Consolation Game after a 64-62 loss to Fort Bend Ridge Point on Saturday. The Bulldogs did pick up a 55-48 victory over the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears on Friday.

Memorial defeated Ridge Point 60-51on Thursday before losing to the tournament champion Ozen Panthers, 61-50, on Friday. The Titans then ended its tournament with a 78-51 loss to Putnam Saturday afternoon.

Nederland comes in to tonight’s 7:30 p.m. game with a 4-3 record while the Titans will enter Bulldog Gym with a 5-3 mark.

After tonight’s game both teams are competing Thursday through Saturday in the Bulldog Classic held at Nederland High School.
