LITTLE CYPRESS — Helping Smith on offense will be a pair of good pass-catching options. Receiver Jeremiah Rose has emerged as the Indians top target on the outside. The junior has 17 catches for 187 yards this season, tied with H-back Tim Clopton for the team lead in receptions. Clopton has 17 catches for 201 yards and two TDs.
Clopton also will be seeing time in a few different spots. The senior carried the ball seven times for 48 yards against Lumberton, meaning the Indians may use him more often in the backfield, along with a fullback like Reece Wardlow. Of course, part of those changes are because A.J. Smith isn’t available at receiver, since he’s back at QB.
“We just have to move the football and keep Sezer on the sideline,” Faircloth said. “You can’t go three-and-out and punt. You have to keep him over there. We have got to score some points on offense, so we’re trying to figure some things out with some different formations.”
