SOFTBALL ROUNDUP: Lady Bulldogs move on to face Dayton

ORANGEFIELD — The District 21-3A champion Orangefield Lady Bobcats wrapped up the regular season with a 10-0 victory over the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs at Lady Bobcat Field Tuesday night.

Khandi Breaux got the win on the mound for the Lady Cats (20-3, 11-1) as she struck out 11.

Katelyn Dickerson was 3-for-4 at the plate and had two steals.

Breaux had two hits, including a double. Ashton Gautreaux had a single and a triple. Kaylie Evans had a double while Haley Fontenot and Maleah Saucedo both had singles.

WO-S (14-10, 3-8) will close out its season Thursday at Buna.

Bridge City 14, Hamshire-Fannett 0

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals continued to play home run derby at Lady Cardinals Field as they blasted four home runs in a 14-0 blanking of last-place Hamshire-Fannett Tuesday night in District 21-3A action at Lady Cardinal Field.

Kasey Frederick led the playoff-bound Lady Cardinals (21-8, 8-3) with a 3-for-4 perfromance that included two home runs and a double as she had two RBI and scored three times.

Kelsey Fults was a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.

Hanna Carpenter was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored. Hanna Faulk was 2-for-3 with a double, a RBI and scored a run. Bailee Bacon was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Kaleigh Carter went 1-for-3 with a RBI and scored twice. Kellyn Cormier was 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Baili Thibodaux was 1-for-1 with two runs scored. Skylar Kahla was 1-for-1 with a run scored and Faith Kaufman went 1-for-3.

Cormier got the win on the hill for BC as she allowed just three hits and struck out five.

The Lady Cardinals will close out the regular season at home Friday against Hardin-Jefferson in a varsity-only battle that will start at 4:30 p.m.
