Lady Indians survive Lady Lions, 2-1

PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves Lady Indians finished the first half of District 20-4A play off with a 2-1 win over Livingston.

PN-G (9-11, 4-3) scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings to rally past Liviingston who took a 1-0 lead after four innings.

Maci Dean had an incredible night on the mound for PN-G with 13 strike outs. She allowed five hits and one walk.

Taylor Thompson scored the Lady Indians first run off a sacrifice by Kennah Belaire.

Back-to-back errors by Livingston allowed Madison Resch score to make it 2-1 PN-G in the bottom of the sixth.

PN-G is home against Lumberton on Tuesday.

Nederland 18, Beaumont Central 1

BEAUMONT — The Nederland Lady Bulldogs poured it on Beaumont Central Friday, 18-1, in four innings.

Nederland (14-6, 6-1) scored four runs in the first, nine in the second and five in the fourth. The Lady Bulldogs outhit Central 13-3 and got help from seven Lady Jaguars errors.

Lindsey Taylor was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with four RBI and three runs. Hannah Smith was 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs, Madelyn Daniel and Kendal Smith were both 1-for-2 with a RBI and two runs while Jamie Bivens and Laken Giroir were each 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs.

Jessica Seanz got the win on the mound. She pitched all four innings and struck out three batters.

Nederland will be at Vidor Tuesday.

Vidor 3, LC-M 0

VIDOR — The Vidor Lady Pirates maintained their stanglehold on the District 20-4A softball race by defeating Orange County rival Little Cypress-Mauriceville 3-0 at Lady Pirate Field Friday night to wrap up the first half of district play.

The Lady Pirates (18-4, 7-0) received a complete-game shutout by ace pitcher Whitney Howerton.

Howerton allowed the Lady Bears (18-5, 5-2) to just four hits while striking out seven and walking two.

Bridge City 8, Hamshire-Fannett 3

FANNETT — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals took down the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns 8-3 in District 21-3A action Tuesday night at Lady Longhorn Field.

Kellyn Cormier nabbed the win on the hill for the Lady Cardinals (18-6, 4-1) as she struck out eight and allowed just four hits.

Faith Kaufman had two hits, including a triple, and scored. Baili Thibodaux drove in two runs with a double. Bailee Bacon had two hits, two RBI and scored.

Hanna Carpenter and Hanna Faulk scored two runs apiece while Cormier and Kaleigh Carter each scored runs.

The Lady Cardinals will face a pivotal game at Hardin-Jefferson Tuesday.

In other 21-3A action, the Orangefield Lady Bobcats ran their record to 13-3 overall and 5-1 in 21-3A play with a 11-0 victory over West Orange-Stark in six innings.

WO-S (12-6, 1-4) will host Buna on Tuesday while Orangefield will visit Buna next Friday.

WEST ORANGE — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats defeated the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs 11-0 in six innings in District 21-3A action at Lady Mustang Field Friday night.

Lady Bobcat pitcher Khandi Breaux struck out 12 Lady Mustangs and allowed just one hit, giving her 54 strikeouts in the last four games.

Baileigh Perkins had a single and two runs batted in for the Lady Bobcats (13-3, 5-1). Kaylie Evans and Haley Fontenot each had singles and RBI.

Breaux and Kelsey Ancelot also added singles for the Lady Bobcats, who will host Buna next Friday.

WO-S (12-6, 1-4) will host Buna on Tuesday.
