North Shore boys 83, Memorial 50
GALENA PARK — Thursday night was not much better for the Memorial boys against North Shore.
The No. 9 Mustangs avenged an earlier season loss to the Titans with an 83-50 victory.
North Shore jumped out to a 22-2 lead after the first period and then led 41-19 at halftime.
Memorial, who got 16 points from Torian Lott and 11 from Darren Williams, was then outscored 21-16 in the third and 21-20 in the fourth.
Jarrey Foster had 15 points for North Shore and was one of four players in double figures for the Mustangs.
Memorial will be at home Tuesday against Baytown Sterling.
Central boys 89, PN-G 34 (Wednesday)
BEAUMONT - The Beaumont Central Jaguars are still one game behind Nederland for the 20-4A lead after winning Wednesday and watching the Bulldogs victory Thursday.
Central defeated Port Neches-Groves 89-34 Wednesday to improve to 8-2 in league play. PN-G is now 6-20 overall and 3-7 in 20-4A.
The Jaguars, who got 20 points from Harrison, were up 13-7 after the first period and had a 34-13 lead at the break.
Central then poured it on in the second half. The Jaguars outscored the Indians 29-13 in the third and 26-8 in the fourth.
John Dubois had a team-high seven points for PN-G who plays host to Nederland Friday.
