Memorial soccer team wins fourth straight


PORT ARTHUR — PN-G girls 10, Bmt Central 0

BEAUMONT — District 38-4A leader Port Neches-Groves evenly divided its 10 goals in five in each half, rolling by Central’s Lady Jags at Babe Zaharias Stadium.

Mikayla Johnson delivered three goals to pace the scoring followed by Hannah Higgins and Bailey Stewart with two apiece. Bailey Tran, Hailey Loupe and Hannah Gerald contributed one goal each in the win as the Lady Indians improved to 17-2-1 and 8-1-1.

PN-G entertains Bridge City on Tuesday in The Reservation at 5 p.m.

Nederland girls 8, Bridge City 0

BRIDGE CITY — This 38-4A game in Larry Ward Stadium quickly belonged to Nederland which commanded a 6-0 halftime advantage.

Madison Ledet scored three times, Kirsten Diaz and Tatum Kieschnick two apiece and Brittany Leatherwood one as Nederland moved to 10-6 and 8-2.

The Lady Bulldogs will hold their Senior Night on Tuesday in Bulldog Stadium against Beaumont Ozen at 5 p.m.

Deer Park girls 7, PA Memorial 0

District 21-5A leader Deer Park scored twice in the opening half and pulled away in the second half against younger reserves for a 7-0 win on Friday night over Memorial at Memorial Stadium.

Port Arthur (4-8 and 1-6) goes to Channelview on Tuesday night for a district game at 7 p.m.
