PORT ARTHUR —
The Port Neches-Groves Lady Indians fell 3-0 to Henderson in their first game at the A&M Consolidated Tournament.
Tori Jackson had two of the Lady Indians (3-7) hits while teammate Katie Lee was 1-for-2 at the plate.
Madison Resch was on the mound for PN-G and struck out four batters while walking one hitter. The Lady Indians struck out nine times when at the plate.
Each team had five hits and one error. Henderson scored two runs in the second and one run in the fourth.
PN-G (4-7) turned around to beat Friendship, 8-7, in their second game of the day.
Shelby Valentine struck out six batters while Jackson stayed hot at the plate by going 3-for-4. Brianna Singler and Maci Dean were both 2-for-4, Lee was 3-for-4 with a monsterous grandslam and Ashton Yonta was 2-for-3 with a double.
The Lady Indians were up 8-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh when Friendship scored four runs. Madison Resch came into the game and was able to get out of the jam.
Titans drop two at Baytown Tournament
The Memorial Titans baseball team dropped a pair of games in the Baytown Tournament Thursday.
The Titans fel to Vidor, 7-0, and to Goose Creek Memorial, 11-1.
Gama Martinez and Mario Dublon both had a hit against Vidor while Martinez, Robert Howard, Abraham Cuevas each had a hit in the Goose Creek game.
Ramiro Martinez added a double while Devuan Anderson a hit and RBI.
