PORT ARTHUR —
HUNTSVILLE — Nederland’s Felicia Sauceda shot a 78 in Monday’s opening round of the Region 3, Class 4A girls golf championships Monday at Raven’s Nest Golf Club, a score that left her in position to earn a berth in the state tournament.

After Monday’s round, she stood fourth among players not on the top three teams. Ahead of her were Heather Shrake of Dawson, who fired the day’s low round of 72, Nicki Oesch of George Ranch (76) and Lexi Brooks of Kingwood Park (77).
