— Nederland boys shock Ozen

BEAUMONT — Bouncing back from a loss to the Panthers in the first half of district play, the Nederland boys basketball team beat Beaumont Ozen 50-45 in overtime Tuesday in District 20-4A play.

Nederland (23-8, 9-2) is now tied with Ozen in second place, a game behind district leader Beaumont Central (23-5, 10-1).

The Bulldogs were led by Zach English, who had 20 points while teammate Colton Weisbrod added 14.

Nederland will host Lumberton at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Memorial boys top Sterling in overtime

BAYTOWN — The Port Arthur Memorial boys basketball team beat Baytown Sterling 40-37 Tuesday in District 21-5A play.

Memorial (17-11, 7-3) was led by Albert Jacobs, who had 11 points while teammates Dorian Chatman had 10.

The Titans will host Beaumont West Brook at 7 p.m. Friday.

PN-G boys fly past Vidor

PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves boys stayed in the playoff hunt Tuesday, beating Vidor 44-31 in District 20-4A play.

PN-G (11-16, 6-5) was led by Brandon Pham, who had 12, while teammate Ramil Glorioso had 10.

The Indians will travel to Beaumont Ozen at 7 p.m. Friday.
