PORT NECHES — Nederland baseball beats Lumberton

LUMBERTON — The Nederland baseball team beat Lumberton 10-0 on Thursday in District 20-4A play.

Nederland (15-3, 5-1) moved into a first-place tie with Lumberton and Port Neches-Groves atop 20-4A.

Carson Raines struck out seven for the Bulldogs in 5 innings of work to pick up the victory. Teammate Jordan Wood added three hits, a stolen base and two RBIs while Mitchell Sanderson had a double.

The Bulldogs will host Beaumont Central at 7 p.m. on April 5.

Memorial loses to West Brook

BEAUMONT — The Port Arthur Memorial baseball team lost to Beaumont West Brook 7-5 on Thursday in District 20-4A play.

Ramiro Sanchez thre 4 1/3 innings for Memorial, allowing six hits and striking out five. Sanchez also was 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and three RBIs. Teammate Gama Martinez was 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI while Robert Howard was 1 for 3.

Memorial (8-9, 1-4) will host La Porte at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

PN-G blanks Ozen

PORT NECHES — Port Neches-Groves pitchers Ryan Leckich and Tyler Herald combined to no-hit Beaumont Ozen in a 5-0 victory on Thursday in District 20-4A play.

Leckich threw six innings while allowing no hits or runs before giving way to Herald, who pitched a hitless seventh to finish the game. Dylan Saatzer and  Daniel Mullins each had home runs for the Indians.

PN-G (10-9, 5-1) will travel to Livingston at 7 p.m. on April 5.

Nederland softball beats Livingston

LIVINGSTON — The Nederland softball team beat Livingston 7-3 on Thursday in District 20-4A play.

Nederland (19-7, 7-2) will host LC-M at 7 p.m. on April 5.
