Hoops teams reschedule games for Saturday

PORT ARTHUR — Mother Nature threw down a monster dunk Friday and the effects were felt all over Southeast Texas.

Instead of a basketball, there was lots and lots of ice. Dangerous roads kept a bulk of teams in the area from getting on the streets Friday which means today becomes a busy day on the hardwood.

The Port Arthur Memorial Titans were one of the first teams to move their game to Saturday. Memorial made the call on Thursday and now the Titans will be at home against Channelview at 3 p.m. today.

Port Neches-Groves will also be on the court today with a 2 p.m. game at Little Cypress-Mauriceville.

Brian English’s Nederland Bulldogs will have the longest wait for all the boys’ teams. Nederland will now play host to Livingston at 6 p.m. Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs will also be playing on Monday, at Livingston at 5 p.m.

Memorial’s Lady Titans face Channelview on the road today for a 3 p.m. start.

The Lady Indians now face the Lady Bears at 2 p.m. Saturday at Indians Gym.
