Indians, Titans both win on the hardwood

PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves Indians notched their second District 20-4A win of the year Friday with a 50-31 victory over Livingston.

Pat Abel’s team got 10 points from Bradley Broussard and nine points from Jacob Robbins.

The Indians (5-18) jumped out to a 15-3 lead after the first quarter and then held a 24-12 lead at half.

PN-G then outscored Livingston (0-7) 26-19 in the second half. Livingston got 12 points from Kwame Phlegm.

The Indians return to action Tuesday with a home game against Lumberton.

PAM boys 57, La Porte 52

LA PORTE — It took double overtime Friday for the Port Arthur Memorial Titans to end a two-game District 21-5A losing streak.

Memorial outscored La Porte 7-2 in the second overtime period to improve to 4-2 in the district standings. La Porte falls to 3-3.

The Titans were up 27-23 at the half and took a five point lead into the fourth. The Bulldogs then outscored the Titans 13-8 to force extra minutes.

Torian Lott led the Titans with 13 points while teammate Dorian Chatman added 10 points.

Memorial is back on the road Tuesday with a game at Deer Park.
