Nederland Babe Ruth all-stars get past Long Beach, Miss.

HUGO, Okla. — Brandon Cluck powered Nederland at the plate and on the hill Saturday, willing Nederland to a 6-3 victory over Long Beach, MS.



Nederland was led by a flawless day at the dish by Brandon, who went 3-3 against Long Beach, MS' pitching. He singled in the first, second, and sixth innings.



Brandon looked sharp on the mound. Brandon held Long Beach, MS hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.



Chandler Lancon recorded the win for Nederland. He allowed three runs over six innings. Chandler struck out four, walked one and gave up five hits.



Nederland never trailed after scoring one run in the second on an RBI single by Brandon.



Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped Long Beach, MS close its deficit to 4-2. An RBI triple by Ian Wadsworth and a groundout by Brandon Shirleyset off Long Beach, MS rally. But, Chandler got Brock Vonderbrugge to ground out to end the inning.



After pushing across one run in the bottom of the seventh, Long Beach, MS faced just a 5-3 deficit. An RBI single by Austin Allen sparked Long Beach, MS' rally. Long Beach, MS' Brandon Logan flew out to end the ballgame.

Nederland will play again Sunday at 1 p.m. against the winner of Brownsfield, Tx. and Hugo, Okla.
