Rory Jones of Groves and Larry Rogers of Orange have added their names to the list of golfers who scored a hole in one in 2012. Jones’ ace came on the 135-yard, 15th hole at Belle Oaks, with an 8-iron. The shot was witnessed by Drew Rutherford. Rogers got his hole in one from 119 yards on No. 15 at Babe Zaharias. He also used an 8-iron. Earl Richard, Tom Hatcher and Paul Brown were his playing companions. It was his second ace . . . PN-G sophomore Braden Bailey continued to add to his laurels by winning Boys 15-18 in the USSSA Lake Charles Open at Gray Plantation. Bailey was even par 108 over 27 holes, in an event shortened by inclement weather on Sunday. Bailey, who finished three shots clear of runner-up Austin Duhon shot 72 on Saturday, then came back with a 36 for a 108 total. Indian teammate Brandon Soileau, also a sophomore, finished in a tie for fourth at 115 . . .The First Tee of The Golden Triangle/Southeast Texas Junior Tour wrapped up its Fall Finish Series Saturday at Babe Zaharias, with Michael Glover beating Lonnie LaBove in a sudden-death play to win Boys 16-18. Both players shot 77. Other flight winners included Seth Morgan (86 in Boys 14-15), Peyton Weems (88 in Boys 12-13), Railee Guidry (106 in Girls 14-15), Jack Burke (40 for 9 holes in Boys 10-11) and Micah Depew (37 over 6 holes in Boys 7-9). Fall Finish points champions were Glover in Boys 16-18, Karlei Hemler in Girls 14-18, Cameron Keith in Boys 14-18, Seth Morgan and Bryce Shaver in Boys 14-15, Guidry in Girls 14-15, Josh Elmore in Boys 12-13, Burke in Boys 10-11, Makenna Henry in Girls 11 & Under and Depew in Boys 7-9 . . . The Senior Game at The Babe was played in a 4 person, 2 ball handicapped format. On the front nine, the team of Raymond Darbonne, Ron Overstreet, Gene Noble and Art Miller won with minus 14. Minus 11 won the back for the team of Rick Pritchett, Jim Cooper, Ken Davis, Harold Wilkinson and Malcolm Tiller. Closest to the pin winners were Maurice Ross (No. 2), Pete Reobroi (No. 7), Wilkinson (No. 12) and Larry Rogers with his ace on No. 15 . . . The Super Saturday Game at The Babe was played in a 2 ball format, with the team of Dwayne Anderson, Ron Scrialla, Jeff Huffman and Wilkinson winning the front at minus 5. The foursome of Larry Padia, Wes McDonald, Jim Cooper and Richard Sibley took the back in minus 5 . . . Bill Worsham finished plus 4 to edge Barry Jackson by a point in the Monday Seniors at Belle Oaks. In the Friday Seniors at Belle Oaks, Jim Brown and Ron Somerville tied for first at plus 4. Worsham was third at plus 2. Somerville won closest to the pin on No. 15 . . . The team of Richard McClelland, Gerald Huebel, Walter Colvin and Joe Castleman scored a sweep in The Patch Senior 50 Plus Game. In a 2-ball format, they were minus 6 on the front and minus 7 on the back.
