Nederland 36, Christian Life 34
Nederland won the third place trophy in what happened to be one of the lowest scoring games of the tournament.
All-Tournament selection Colton Weisbrod finished off a stellar Bulldogs Classic with 21 points and eight rebounds. He scored 10 in the first period and took an extended rest in the second quarter.
Weisbrod then scored five in the third before finishing off the game with nine points in the game’s final eight minutes.
Jase Miguez had the biggest shot of the game with a three-pointer late in the fourth.
Christian Life drew up the perfect play and executed a full-court pass to try to get the final shot off. The inbound pass was thrown to perfection to 6-9 post Torrell Sutton who tipped the ball to Omosa Ogunsuyi. Ogunsuyi’s shot hit the rim and did not fall.
Christian Life was up 18-17 at the half and held a three-point lead going into the fourth, 28-25.
Silsbee 76, PN-G 63
The Indians took it to the Tigers all game long yet Silsbee pulled away at the end to take a 76-63 victory.
PN-G was up 16-14 after the first period and trailed 30-26 at the break.
PN-G then had its best quarter of the season by outscoring Silsbee 27-20 in the third.
The fourth period was unkind to the Indians who were outscored 26-10.
Jacob Robbins and Jacob Underhill each had 13 points for PN-G while Bradley Broussard added 11 points and Kade Geoffroy finished with 10 points.
Chris Elam led the Tigers had 29 points and Jalen Hardeway had 12 points.
