Lott, Chatman lead Titans to 74-37 victory

PORT ARTHUR — Torian Lott and Dorian Chatman made sure Port Arthur Memorial’s game against Channelview was not even close on Friday.

Lott scored 19 and Chatman had 14 as the Titans won 74-37 improved to 11-4 on the season and 2-0 in District 21-5A play. Channelview is now 4-9 and 0-2.

Memorial was up 16-8 after the first before exploding for 22 points in the second to take a 38-23 lead at the break. Memorial then outscored Channelview 23-4 in the third.

Darren Williams added 10 points for the Titans and Geremiah Lofton led the Titans with five steals.

Memorial will compete in the James Gamble Classic Dec. 26-28 before playing host to North Shore on Friday, Jan. 3.

LC-M 56, PN-G 46

PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves Indians kept it close against the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears all night until the fourth period.

The Bears held a 39-35 lead going into the fourth and then outscored the Indians 17-11 in the game’s final eight minutes to win 56-46.

PN-G (1-13, 0-2) got 11 points from both Kade Geoffroy and Jacob Underhill while teammate Ryan Leckich put in 10 points.

LC-M (9-7, 2-0) was up 14-13 after the first period and held a 30-25 lead at the break. The Indians outscored the Bears 10-9 in the third period.

LC-M got 14 points from Taylor Peveto and 13 points from Jace Robertson.

Both the Indians and Bears will compete in the Bridge City/Orangefield Tournament Dec. 30-Jan. 1.

Nederland 74, Livingston 47

LIVINGSTON — The Nederland Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 21-10 lead after the first period and never looked back Friday against the Livingston Lions.

The Bulldogs defeated the Lions 74-47 to improve to 9-5 overall and 2-0 in District 20-4A play. Livingston is now 4-12 and 0-2.

Nederland held a 39-23 lead at the break and then outscored Livingston 23-14 in the third period.

The teams slowed down in the fourth as Nederland won the period 12-10.

Nederland will compete in the Gulf Coast Invitational Dec. 27-28 before returning to 20-4A play on Jan. 3 with a  home game against LC-M.
