After a long weekend of waiting, Mid-County’s two softball teams finally know their opponents for the bidistrict round of the playoffs.
District 19-4A’s second and third seeds were decided in a tiebreaker game Monday. Crosby beat New Caney 5-1 to grab the second seed from 19-4A and a matchup with 20-4A third seed Nederland (22-9).
The two will play a three-game series beginning with a Friday doubleheader at Crosby. Game 1 will be played at 4:30 p.m. with Game 2 starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at 7 p.m. Monday at Nederland.
PN-G (18-9) will face New Caney in a three-game series starting Friday. Game 1 will be played at PN-G’s Reservation at 6 p.m. Friday. Game 2 will be played at noon Saturday in New Caney. Game 3, if necessary, will be played at a neutral site to be determined at 6 p.m. Monday.
