DAVID COLEMAN: How area players fared in college games

PORT ARTHUR — Here are the efforts by former Southeast Texas players in the collegiate ranks over the Oct. 27  weekend. Players are included when they record statistics, start the game or reach career milestones. Players who are being redshirted or do not play are not included.

Four Year Colleges

Michael Barnes, Missouri Valley College, DB (Central): Barnes had seven tackles in the 67-13 victory over Peru State, giving him 43 tackles this season.

Reggie Begelton, Lamar, WR (West Brook): Begelton caught one pass for 10 yards in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State. The redshirt freshman has 16 catches for 131 yards this season.

Trevor Bell, Columbia, WR (Hamshire-Fannett): Bell returned two kickoffs for 27 yards in the 26-22 victory over Yale.

Jacoby Bellard, Missouri Valley College, WR (Ozen): Bellard caught one pass for 23 yards in the 67-13 victory over Peru State.

Harry Brown, Texas Southern, WR (Memorial): Brown caught two passes for 22 yards in the 23-20 victory over Grambling. The senior has 20 catches for 243 yards and a TD this season.

Joshua Chatman, McMurry, WR (West Brook): Chatman had one catch for 7 yards in the 29-11 homecoming victory over Langston. The senior has 26 catches for 230 yards and a TD this season.

Blake Chavis, Lamar, DL (West Brook): Chavis had two tackles in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State, giving him 17 tackles this season.

Desmond Gardiner, Texas A&M, DB (Memorial): Gardiner had two tackles in the 63-21 victory over Auburn, giving him three tackles this season.

Collin Garrett, Stephen F. Austin, LB (West Brook): Garrett had eight tackles, including one for a loss, and broke up a pass in the 35-24 loss to McNeese State, giving him 74 tackles this season.

DePauldrick Garrett, Lamar, RB (West Orange-Stark): Garrett had 10 carries for 21 yards in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State. The junior has 80 carries for 344 yards and two TDs this season.

Jordan Garrett, Lamar, DB (West Brook): Garrett had one tackle in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State, giving him 19 tackles this season.

Ryan Grant, Tulane, WR (West Brook): Grant had six catches for 184 yards and two TDs in the 55-45 victory over Alabama-Birmingham. The senior leads the Green Wave with 37 catches for 658 yards and two TDs this season.

Adrian Guillory, Lamar, DB (Central): Guillory had three tackles in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State, giving him 32 tackles this season.

Zack Hollier, Grand View, LB (West Brook): Hollier had one tackle in the 23-16 victory over No. 17 St. Francis, giving him 29 tackles this season.

Ortavious Hypolite, Stephen F. Austin, DB (West Orange-Stark): Hypolite had three tackles, inlcuding one for a loss, in the 35-24 loss to McNeese State, giving him 10 tackles this season.

Keenan Holman, Southern Methodist, WR (Central): Holman had three catches for 37 yards in the 44-13 homecoming victory over Memphis. The junior has 23 catches for 298 yards this season.

Willie Jefferson, Stephen F. Austin, DE (Ozen): Jefferson had two tackles, both for a loss, one sack and a forced fumble in the 35-24 loss to McNeese State. The senior has 27 tackles, four sacks, two PBUs, five quarterback hits and three forced fumbles this season.

Marcus Malbrough, Lamar, DL (West Brook): Malbrough had one tackle for a loss in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State, giving him 15 tackles this season.

Shane McCardell, Mississippi State, DE (West Brook): McCardell had three tackles in the 38-7 loss to No. 1 Alabama, giving him eight tackles this season.

Christine Michael, Texas A&M, RB (West Brook): Michael had eight carries for 75 yards and a touchdown in the 63-21 victory over Auburn. The senior has 58 carries for 271 yards and six TDs this season.

Mark Murrill, Lamar, DT (Lumberton): Murrill had three tackles and a quarterback hit in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State, giving him 30 tackles this season.

Keith O'Neal, Missouri Valley College, RB (Central): O’Neal had two carries for 2 yards in the 67-13 victory over Peru State.

John Prescott, Lamar, DL (Ozen): Prescott had four tackles, including one for a loss, in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State, giving him 25 tackles this season.

Chris Raggett, McNeese State, S (Ozen): Raggett had two tackles in the 35-24 victory over Stephen F. Austin, giving him 21 tackles this season.

Taylor Reed, Southern Methodist, LB (West Brook): Reed had six tackles, inlcuding two for a loss, and one sack in the 44-13 homecoming victory over Memphis. The senior has 48 tackles, including eight for a loss, four sacks, two interceptions, four PBUs and a quarterback hit this season.

Bruce Reyes, Missouri Valley College, QB (West Brook): Reyes completed 21 of 26 passes for 207 yards and four TDs in the 67-13 victory over Peru State. The sophomore also had 25 rushing yards and a TD. Reyes has thrown for 1,277 passing yards and scored 14 TDs this season.

Jarrian Rhone, West Texas A&M, WR (Silsbee): Rhone had 10 catches for 77 yards and a TD in the 52-28 victory over West Georgia. The redshirt freshman has 27 catches for 301 yards and three TDs this season.

Elandon Roberts, Morgan State, LB (Memorial): Roberts had a team-high 16 tackles in the 28-23 loss to Delaware State. The true freshman has 76 tackles, inlcuding seven for a loss, one sack and one interception this season.

Mark Roberts, Houston, WR (West Orange-Stark): Roberts caught one pass for 12 yards in the 45-35 victory over Texas-El Paso. The sophomore has three catches for 40 yards this season.

Radermon Scypion, Houston, DL (Memorial): Scypion had one tackle and recovered a fumble in the 45-35 victory over Texas-El Paso, giving him 15 tackles this season.

Stan Sullivan, Incarnate Word, WR (Ozen): Sullivan returned one kickoff for minus-5 yards in the 45-20 loss to Tarleton State.

Branden Thomas, Lamar, DB (Central): Thomas had two tackles in the 56-7 loss to Sam Houston State, giving him 28 tackles this season.

Seth Thomas, McNeese State, CB (West Orange-Stark): Thomas had 14 tackles and an interception in the 35-24 victory over Stephen F. Austin. The senior has 38 tackles, three interceptions, three pass breakups and one quarterback hit this season.

Jonathan Ward, Texas State, DE (Lumberton): Ward had three tackles in the 31-20 loss to San Jose State.

Steven White, Texas Southern, DB (Memorial): White had five tackles in the 23-20 victory over Grambling, giving him 24 tackles this season.
