Since he was in the seventh grade, J'Covan Brown has been the talk of basketball in Southeast Texas.

The prodigy star, who many have been eyeballing, patiently waiting to see what would come of him, is now a senior at Memorial High School and just a signature away from answering the most popular question that surrounds him: Where will he play college basketball?

That answer should come this morning during a press conference at Memorial on Brown's behalf. Brown's father,

Johnny Ray, said Brown "will sign today."

Ray did not say who he will sign with, but most reports have Brown signing with Oklahoma State or Texas.

Orangebloods.com reported that Brown was expected to sign with the Texas Longhorns in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday was the first day of of the early signing period.

The report from Orangebloods said that Brown notified Texas on Tuesday night that he was ready to sign,

but changed his mind early Wednesday.

Ray confirmed that Brown did talk with Texas on Wednesday, but decided to wait until today to make his decision.

Baylor, Oklahoma and Cincinatti are among the other suitors in the Brown sweepstakes.

Brown ranks No. 41 in the nation for all positions, is in the top-10 for scoring guards in the nation and is ranked No. 2 in Texas for the class of 2008.

Brown won two state championships with Kelly, then made the move to Port Arthur last year where he averaged 26.2 points. He scored 50-points once and scored more than 30 points in 14 games last season.

Most recently, Brown dropped 32 points, 15 in the fourth quarter, against Ozen in a 62-59 loss on Tuesday night in front of a packed Memorial gym.

The Titans guard hit a number of big shots down the stretch, including a three-pointer that brought his team within one-point with just two minutes to play.
