Doris and Dorthy Dodson were born in the Mary Gates Hospital on Lakeshore Drive, in Port Arthur on December 4, 1918. They grew up on 6th street and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1937. Their parents had an apartment house, a service station and their dad also worked for Gulf Oil.

Doris attended Port Arthur Business College and worked at Woolworth, Gulf Oil, The Fair Store and Dryden's Department store. Doris married Curtis Hammock in October 1944 and they had two children, Mike who lives with his wife Faranghise and son Alex, in Denver, Colorado and Shawn who lives with her husband, Dan Sanders, in Huffman, Texas. Doris lived in Port Arthur until 2000 and then moved to Beaumont. Doris volunteered as a pink lady at Park Place Hospital in Port Arthur for 16 years and is still doing volunteer work at Herman Memorial Baptist in Beaumont.. She has always been very active in the Church of Christ. Doris has one grandchild.

Dorthy attended Port Arthur Business College and worked for Smith Maye Motor Company. She married Rexford Anderson in June 1941. They lived in Beaumont where they raised a son and daughter. She has been active in the Church of Christ all of her life. She now lives with her daughter, Donna Jo, since losing Rex this past May. Dorthy's son, Rex, Jr., is a neurologist and lives in Abilene, Texas with his wife Mary. Dorthy has two grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

The twins remain close and live one block from each other in Beaumon
