Elderly PN man drowns in pool

PORT NECHES — An elderly Port Neches man drowned in a pool on Friday.

Port Neches Fire Department’s Interim Assistant Chief Guy Bodin said they received a call of a man in the pool/possible drowning at about 11:41 a.m. June 6 at a home in the 3100 block of Galewood Lane.

Fire fighters removed the man from the in-ground pool and Acadian EMS staff started resuscitation efforts. The man, age 88, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett.

Bodin said Burnett’s office will continue the investigation into the drowning.

The victims name has not been released.
