Bradley ends successful year as PN Chamber president

PORT NECHES — 2013 was a busy, productive year for Port Neches Chamber of Commerce; just ask Lance Bradley.

Bradley, who is ending his term as president of the Chamber, ticked off a list of the Chamber’s accomplishments this past year.

More than 30 new members joined the Chamber in 2013, Riverfest continues to get bigger and better every year, the annual golf tournament was the biggest ever in terms of money raised and the annual Holiday Mixer was such a success they were able to make a large donation to the Southeast Texas Food bank.

The Chamber also saw a successful Catch a Shooting Star event, held nine ribbon cuttings, hosted numerous networking coffees, saw the city’s downtown area continue its growth and a new restaurant added to the waterfront that “hopefully will trigger additional development along the water,” he said.

Bradley, an attorney and partner with McPherson, Hughes, Bradley, Wimberly, Steele and Chatelain, is a familiar face in Port Neches as his law firm works with the city of Port Neches and the Port Neches-Groves Independent School District. He is also chairman of the Port Neches Riverfront Development Board.

He gave kudos to others who helped make the Chamber successful.

“Debbie Plaia makes the job of president easy,” Bradley said of the executive director of the Chamber. “She makes sure things run smooth and made my job easy.”

Bradley also gave credit to the Chamber board.

“We have a great group of people on the Chamber Board,” he said. “Everyone brings a unique perspective to the table, but everyone has the best interest of the City of Port Neches at heart and are doing what we can to improve the quality of life in Port Neches and to help our local businesses to succeed.”

Bradley will hand over the title to incoming president Stefanie Wolfford during the Port Neches Chamber of Commerce’s 73rd Annual Banquet Thursday night at the Pompano Club in Port Neches.

“I am lucky to have a great past president, Lance Bradley, to fall back on for guidance,” Wolfford said.
