Library to host child abuse speaker, author April 21

PORT NECHES — In recognition of April being National Child Abuse Awareness Month, the Hebert Public Library will host author Allen Parker as he discusses the signs, prevention, and recovery of Child Abuse.

Allen Parker, not a member of the Parker Law Firm in Port Arthur, graduated from Lamar in 1978 with a degree in physical education. He has worked with children for more than 30 years. He has dealt with child abuse and recovery on both a personal and family level.

 Parker will speak from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in the Community Room of the library, 2025 Merriman, Port Neches. Call 409-722-4554 for more information.
