PAISD Child Nutrition Dept. recognized

PORT ARTHUR — The Port Arthur Independent School District’s Child Nutrition department received awards from the Healthier U.S. School Challenge (HUSSC) through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Ten District schools received the Silver award. They include: Adams, DeQueen, Dowling, Houston, Lee, Travis, Tyrrell and Washington Elementary Schools, as well as the Wheatley School of Early Childhood Education.

The Texas Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition congratulated the District on this achievement and the Child Nutrition department’s efforts to improve school nutrition environments and the health of children in Texas. The Child Nutrition department is led by Director John Constancio.
