Man stabbed with barbecue fork on Thanksgiving Day

PORT ARTHUR — A Port Arthur man was stabbed with a barbecue fork during a Thanksgiving Day disturbance.

Police were called to an apartment building located at 621 Sixth St. on Thursday, Nov. 28 in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers found a male victim with multiple stab wounds. The victim was identified as Sam Howard, 39, of Port Arthur. He was transported to Christus Hospital-St. Mary for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, according to a press release from Port Arthur Police Department.

Darrell Mason Sr., 42, of Port Arthur, was taken into custody and incarcerated in the Jefferson County Jail. Police believe the suspect used a barbecue fork as a weapon.
