Accidental death at Vessel Repair under investigation

PORT ARTHUR — Port Arthur Police are investigating the death of a man who reportedly suffocated after entering the tank of a barge containing nitrogen at a local shipyard.

Port Arthur Police and Fire departments responded to a call of a man down inside a barge at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 at Vessel Repair, 5848 Procter St. Extension.

The victim is identified as a 60-year-old man from Orange.

Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett pronounced the man deceased.
