Port Arthur Police calls, Jan. 1 through Jan. 5

PORT ARTHUR — Port Arthur Police responded to the following calls from Jan. 1 through Jan. 5

Wednesday, Jan. 1

• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated, third of more offense, after a vehicle accident in the 2400 block of FM 365.

• A man accidentally shot himself in the ankle with a .45 caliber gun while shooting into the ground in the 400 block of Duff Drive.

• Terrorist threat-family violence was reported in the 500 block of Fifth Avenue.

• A Daisy brand BB gun was used to break a window in the 2100 block of West 60th Street and a Playstation 3, Alienware computer and Samsung 40-inch TV were stolen.

• Criminal negligence was reported after a fire work left a burn mark on a vehicle in the 2700 block of 10th Avenue.

• A 2000 Pontiac Bonneville, 60-inch flat screen TV, miscellaneous jewelry and possibly an unknown make/model shotgun were stolen from a home in the 3400 block of Sixth Avenue.

• A 50-inch Sony flat screen TV with remote was stolen from a home in the 900 block of San Jacinto.

• A 32-inch Sanyo flat screen TV, a 50-inch Panasonic flat screen TV and Sony Play Station were stolen from a residence at Pebble Creek Apartments, 4141 Jimmy Johnson Blvd.

• A person was arrested for the theft of a 50-inch Vizio flat screen TV from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.

• Attempted burglary of a habitation was reported at Port Arthur Townhomes, 3500 Turtle Creek Drive.

• A City of Port Arthur speed limit sign was damaged in the 3300 block of Seventh Street. The vehicle was located a short time later in the 2800 block of Sixth Street.

• Theft of 20 pieces of 8-inch diameter steel pipe, approximately 16 to 18 feet long was reported in the 1500 block of Houston Avenue.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 800 block of Eighth Avenue.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 1900 block of Angelle Drive.



Thursday, Jan. 2

• A 43-inch TV, Playstation 3, two car amplifiers, Craftsman 21-inch lawn mower, weedeater, generator, eight classic throw back sports jerseys, microwave and portable air conditioning unit were stolen from a home in the 5100 block of Ninth Street.

• A Vizio tablet and HP laptop were stolen from a residence at Sunset Way Apartments, 3280 Central Mall Drive.

• A tool box with assorted power tools, two boxes of home theater speakers, new in box and unopened, four Princess house cooking pans new in box and unopened and gas weed eater were stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Canal Avenue.

• An assault was reported in the 3300 block of Second Avenue.

• A 37-inch Magnavox flat screen TV was stolen from LaQuinta Inn and Suites, 7540 Memorial Blvd.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 2400 block of 65th Street.

• Deadly conduct was reported outside Walgreens, 4930 Gulfway Drive.



Friday, Jan. 3

• Assault/family violence was reported at Wellington Manor Apartments, 1320 Ninth Ave.

• Terroristic threats were reported after someone called in a bomb threat at Jack-in-the-box, 2840 FM 365.

• Assault/family violence was reported at Rosedale Trailer Park, 1448 Rosedale Ave.

• A person was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic accident in the 9900 block of Texas 87.

• Six Super Start heavy duty batteries, valued at $200 each, were stolen from Kim’s Seafood, 601 W. Gulfway Drive.

• Aggravated assault with a motor vehicle was reported at Prince Hall Apartments, 1914 W. 14th St.

• Violation of a protective order was reported at Cedar Ridge Apartments, 7605 Ninth Ave.

• A person was arrested for the theft of a Samsung prepaid cell phone, valued at $79.90, from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.

• A person was arrested for the theft of assorted clothing and shoes, valued at $64.36, from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.

• Assault/family violence was reported in the 8100 block of Honeywood Trail.

• Criminal trespass was reported at Central Mall, 3100 FM 365.

• Numerous items were stolen from a home in the 5200 block of 10th Street.



Saturday, Jan. 4

• A Coach handbag containing approximately $400, identification card and miscellaneous papers was stolen from a woman by a man with a handgun in the 2100 block of Seventh Street.

• A person was arrested for indecent exposure in the 1600 block of T.B. Ellison Parkway.

• A person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, crack cocaine, weight 0.1 gram, in the 3800 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A person was arrested for criminal trespassing at Fabric Care Center Laundromat, 2925 25th St.

• Two people were arrested for the theft of 5 DVD’s, infant baby bottle and a black purse, total wholesale value $56.81, from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.

• Assault/family violence was reported in the 5900 block of Texas Avenue.

• A person was detained for the theft of a pair of sneakers, yellow workout T-shirt, a tank top, a pair of socks and two pair of workout pants, total whole sale value $50.37, from Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.

• The catalytic converter from a 2012 Dodge Ram was stolen in the 4600 block of Hollywood Drive.

• A flat screen TV and miscellaneous jewelry were stolen from a home in the 5100 block of Ninth Street.

• A runaway was reported in the 3000 block of 34th Street.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at Willow Lake Apartments, 2555 95th St.



Sunday, Jan. 5

• Assault/family violence was reported in the 1900 block of Green Avenue.

• A person was arrested for failure to identify in the 2200 block of Duff Drive.

• Retaliation was reported a Speedy Stop, 600 W. Gulfway Drive.

• A home in the 5100 block of Ninth Street was burglarized.

• A person was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence in the 3300 block of 19th Street.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported at Sherwood Forest Apartments, 4710 Jimmy Johnson Blvd.

• Two people were arrested for theft at Walmart, 8585 Memorial Blvd.

• Criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 600 block of West 13th Street.

• Felony assault/family violence was reported in the 3200 block of Twin City Highway.

• Two TV’s, jewelry and a handgun were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Duff Drive.

• Criminal mischief was reported in the 1300 block of Joe Louis.

• Solicitation of a minor was reported.
