Armed suspects rob PA store

PORT ARTHUR — A Port Arthur convenience store was robbed at gunpoint late Sunday night.

Police responded to Food Basket No. 8, 4149 32nd St., at about 11:31 p.m. Oct. 27 in reference to a robbery in progress.

Responding officers quickly got to the area, however the suspects had already left the business in an unknown direction, according to a press release from Port Arthur Police Department.

During the robbery, the suspects brandished firearms at the clerk and several patrons inside the store. The suspects demanded property from the patrons and attempted to remove property from the store. Police are unsure of exactly what was taken at this time.

There were no injuries during the incident and officers were able to gather evidence at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and is being handled by the PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division.
