The Groves Police Department responded to the following calls from Wednesday, April 23, through Tuesday, April 29.
Wednesday, April 23
• A Sirius satellite radio was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 5300 block of Grant.
• A gold Chevrolet Z-71 pick up truck backed into a building in the 6800 block of E. Parkway and then left the scene.
Thursday, April 24
• A 45-year-old female was arrested on Groves warrants in the 6200 block of Mire.
• A 35-year-old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 6500 block of 25th Street.
• A 33-year-old male was arrested on Groves warrants after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 3800 block of Main.
• A 15-speed Raleigh Mountain bike was stolen the back yard of a residence in the 7000 block of Terrell.
• A Toshiba laptop computer and a Canon camcorder were stolen from a residence in the 6600 block of Val.
• An assault was reported in the 5300 block of Garfield.
• A window screen on a building was cut in an attempt to gain entry in the 6200 block of Warren.
Friday, April 25
• A 34-year-old male was arrested for DWI in the 3200 block of Twin City.
• An aggravated assault was investigated in the 2900 block of Terrace.
• A boy’s turquoise Diamond back BMX bicycle was stolen from the ball park in the 6300 block of Van Buren.
• Graffiti was spray painted on a house in the 5000 block of 25th Street.
• A 26-year-old female was arrested on Jefferson County warrants in the 3700 block of Lay.
• A 19-year-old male was arrested for failure to identify giving false/fictitious information after she was stopped for a traffic violation and gave the officer false information.
Saturday, April 26
• A 29-year-old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after officers were called to investigate a disturbance in the 6300 block of Gulfway.
• A 29-year-old male was arrested on Jefferson County warrants after officers were called to investigate a disturbance in the 5000 block of 32nd Street.
• A 32-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 6300 block of Plaza.
Sunday, April 27
• A 23-year-old male was charged with criminal mischief after he damaged a political sign in the 5800 block of W. Jefferson. He was also arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
• A black Smith & Wesson .40 caliber pistol was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 6300 block of Warren.
• A disturbance with a knife was investigated in the 6200 block of Gulfway.
Tuesday, April 29
• A 34-year-old male was arrested for evading arrest after he attempted to elude an officer attempting to stop him on a traffic violation in the 2000 block of Orange. He was also arrested on a Webb County warrant for aggravated kidnapping.
• A 43-year-old female and a 48-year-old male were arrested for public intoxication in the 6900 block of Terrell after officers were called in reference to unwanted subjects at that location.
• A 58-year-old male was arrested on Port Neches warrants after he was stopped for a traffic violation in the 5100 block of Gulfway.
• A 51-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 5400 block of W. Parkway.
• An animal trap was stolen from the 6400 block of Jefferson.
• A 6-foot by 2 feet campaign sign was stolen from the 5800 block of W. Jefferson.
TIP OF THE WEEK
Destroy all unused pre-approved credit card and loan applications. The mailbox thief only has to fill them out and redirect the return address to start using your credit.
