PORT ARTHUR — Sabine Pass---Bull redfish remain good at the jetties on cut bait. Flounder are improving in the channel.
Lake Calcasieu (Big Lake)---Hackberry Rod and Gun reports solid action for trout and reds over oyster reefs on live bait and Hackberry Hustlers. Look for postfrontal action to be mixed with the second day after the fronts blow through to produce the best catches.
Sam Rayburn---Texas Parks & Wildlife Department officials report largemouths are good on watermelon red soft plastic worms, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits, and on topwaters early and late. White bass are fair on minnows, slabs, and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue/white tube jigs. Bream are fair on nightcrawlers. Catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live bait.
Toledo Bend---Holly Park Marina reports fair bass on action on redbug-and candybug-colored worms in 15 feet of water. A few bass are coming early and late on topwaters. Stripers are slow. Crappie are slow to fair off baited piers. Very few reports of catfish.
