Lake Conroe Open highlights amazing fishery

Calcasieu ( Big Lake )---The Hackberry Rod and Gun Club reports trout and reds are fair to good under the birds and over deep shell. The short rigs are fair for trout and sharks on calm days Very few reports of flounder.
Sam Rayburn---Guide Roger Bacon reports bass are good on Senkos fished on drop shot rigs over main lake brush and deep grass lines. A few fish are coming on Ribbits fished in the grass. Crappie are fair to good on the brush piles on shiners fished in 25 foot depths. Most of the fish are hanging in 12 to 15 feet of water and the best fishing is on bright days. Very few reports of catfish.
Toledo Bend ---Holly Park Marina reports largemouths are fair on frogs and buzz baits. Crappie are good over baited holes on shiners. White bass are good on spoons fished late on the flats. Bream and catfish are fair on worms.
Lake Livingston---Texas Parks & Wildlife Department officials report largemouths are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are good but small on pet spoons, hellbenders, trolling tubes, and slabs. White bass are good on pet spoons, hellbenders, trolling tubes, and Charlie slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.
