PORT ARTHUR —
An angel of the Lord came down on Tuesday evening, August 13 and escorted our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt to her heavenly home.
Joyce was born November 30, 1930 to Ernest and Eunice Senegal Johnson in Lafayette, LA. She was the fifth of eleven children.
She moved to Port Arthur in the 1950's where she met and married Elton "Nat" Green. To their union 4 children were born. Joyce held various jobs outside of the home, but her main and most important job was always her family.
She will always be remembered as a woman of strength. Nothing, not even illness, could keep her from whatever she set her mind to. Even through the worst of days, that wonderful smile was ever-present.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elton, Sr., 2 sisters; Enola Dennis and Altha Daigle, and 5 brothers; Alcee, Dallas, Ivory, Ernest and Alvin Johnson.
Joyce leaves a lifetime of memories to her children Elton Green, Jr. of Beaumont, Anthony Green of Waco, Priscilla Green of Houston and Angela Green Washington of Port Arthur; two sisters, Ester Harrison of Port Arthur and Clara Daigle of Lafayette, LA; one brother, Harrison Johnson Sr. of Port Arthur; her grandchildren Patrick and Frederick Green of Port Arthur, Justin Green of San Antonio, Marcus Edwards of Waco, Gene Willis of Fort Polk, LA., and Sarah Tennerd-Burns of Houston; her great-grandchildren Tyler Green of Port Arthur, Nadia, Devin and Deandre Willis of Fort Polk, LA., and a great-grandson due in January.

A visitation will be held beginning at 8 a.m. with a Rosary being said at 9 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery. Final arrangements entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home.
