Patsy Ruth DeRouen

Patsy Ruth DeRouen, 81, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away at Cypress Glen East, Surrounded  by her loving family. She fought a long, hard battle with a progressive, unforgiving disease, never complaining, never giving up, always with a smile on her face.

She was born on April 29, 1932 to Eunice Lacobie LeBlanc and Clifford LeBlanc in Sulphur, Louisiana. Patsy was a resident of Port Arthur for most of her life. She retired from PAISD as a Cafeteria Worker after 10 years of service at Tyrrell Elementary and Thomas Jefferson High School. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves.

She and Roy loved to dance and were regulars at the Singles Club for many years where they jitterbugged the night away.

She was an avid Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboy Fan. She loved going camping with family and friends at Hen House Ridge.

She spent a lot of time tending to her large collection of potted plants. Forever thoughtful, she would always remember a birthday or anniversary with a beautiful, heartfelt card.

Patsy was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and wife of 59 years to Roy. All of the family knows how blessed they were to have been part of her life. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, October 21, 2013 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
