PORT ARTHUR —
Freddie “June” Washington, Jr., 66, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at his home. A native of Cade, Louisiana, he was a resident of Port Arthur for 59 years. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Class of 1965. After graduating from high school, he went into the United States Air Force. At his time of death he was employed with Port Arthur Independent School District. He was a member of St. Mary’s and St. James Catholic Church.
A visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel and Mass of Celebration will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00 am St. James Catholic Church with Father J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
He is preceded in death by his father, Freddie Washington, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Mary Alice Washington; two sons, Aaron Washington and Mario Washington both of Wichita, KS; two brothers, Jimmy Washington of Port Arthur, TX and Charles George of St. Martinville, LA; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Most of all his cousin and best friend Gus Washington, Jr. and his special friend Donnie Williams.
