PORT ARTHUR —
Johnny John Lewis, 82, of Port Arthur, Texas was called home Saturday, August 31, 2013. Johnny was born to the union of the late Wilson John Lewis and Lizzie Davis. Johnny was a United States Army veteran and retired from Laborers Local No. 853. He was a lifelong member of Rock Island Baptist Church and labored faithfully as custodian for 12 years until his health prevented him from doing so.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest daughter, LaChanta Lewis Hopkins and great-grandson, Cameron Chambers.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Aline “Lena” Lewis; two daughters, Rhonda of Houston and Misty (Ken); one son, Urban Queen both of Port Arthur, TX; grandchildren, Tremond, Tremain, Treshod, Jakeel, TaKierra, Ja’Ray, and Elondra; 6 great-great grandchildren; one sister Mary Guidry; one brother Martin Lewis both of LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A wake is scheduled from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Rock Island Baptist Church with Pastor Ransom Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
