CHIRENO —    Mr. Fred L. Cox Sr., of Chireno, Texas, entered into rest August 25, 2013, in Lufkin, Texas.  Mr. Cox was born April 11, 1935, in Canton, Texas to the late Claude and Ruby Leona (Honey) Cox.

   He was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints.  He served in the U.S. Navy.  He worked as a welder for Coastal Marine for many years.

   He is survived by his sons, Fred L. Cox Jr. and wife Justina, and Douglas Cox, all of Silsbee; daughters, Janet Welty and husband Tim of Kerrville, and Donna Wall and husband Gary of San Augustine; sister Dana Van Brocklin of Lumberton, 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ada Ruth Cox; sisters, Lula Fay Cook, Eddie Lee Van Brocklin and Claudie Valree Landry.

   Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 28, 2013, 4:00 p.m., at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, San Augustine.  Burial will be in the Quinelly Foundation Cemetery, Quitman, Ms., on Thursday, August 29, 2013, 4:00 p.m.
