Amazing Grace” Marie Viator, 86, of Spring, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Grace Memory Care Center, Spring, Texas. She was born October 2, 1926, to Clarissa and Edward Steck in Port Arthur. Grace worked for many years as a registered nurse, before her retirement. She stayed active, having participated in numerous overseas trips with her sorority group and traveling with the Dawn group. Grace was also an active member of her church. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, a lot of crocheting, playing solitaire, listening to her music and spending time with her grandkids.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Kathy Parker and her husband, Rick, of Spring and Anita Rutledge and her husband, Ross, of Denver, Colorado; sons, Ralph Viator and his wife, Lisa, of Lubbock, Raymond Viator and his wife, Cynthia, of Houston, Paul Viator and his wife, Donna, of Nederland and B.J. Viator and his partner, Mary, of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Jason, Brandon, Nicholas, Spencer and Conner Viator, Angela Smith, Beth Koberman, Michelle Tuhowski, Kayla Farhang, Amy and Erica Rutledge and Tracy, Allison and Melissa Viator; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian Holberg of Katy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Dallas J. Viator.
A gathering of Mrs. Viator’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil to begin at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
