PORT ARTHUR —
Merrill Lott passed away November 4, 2013. He was born, October 17, 1927 in Galveston, Texas to Otto and Edith Bushnell Lott. He was raised in Port Arthur and became Valedictorian of his Thomas Jefferson Class. Merrill received a BA from Rice Institute. He served two years in Army intelligence in Germany. Merrill was employed at Gulf Oil as a systems analyst. He worked for Gulf in Philadelphia, Port Arthur, Europe and Saudi Arabia. Merrill was a Life Master duplicate bridge player. He collected shells and has a display of shells at the Museum of the Gulf Coast.
Merrill is survived by his cousins, Dr. Roland Kringel of Groves, Texas, Stan Vansant and Edith Pipes of Spokane Washington and Kay Maughn of Glendale, Arizona.
A visitation will be held at Grammier-Oberle funeral Home on Thursday November 14, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A private Graveside rite will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
