PORT ARTHUR —
Callie Dorsey Bazile, born October 23, 1944, passed away on the morning of October 12, 2013, at the age of 68. She was born in Marksville, LA and moved to Port Arthur, TX at a young age. She worked in dietary at Mid-Jefferson Hospital and at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, retiring with over 28 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Dorsey, Sr. and Mildred Lair LaFleur and step-father, Nicklas LaFleur; two brothers, Louis M. LaFleur, Calvin Dorsey, Jr., and granddaughter, Tempest Bazile.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her cherished and devoted children; three daughters, Christina Shields (Roderick, Sr.), Yolanda Guidry (Eric, Sr.), Yvette Berry; one son Grant D. Bazile; siblings, Richard Dorsey (Wylean), Ruth Charles (Jonathan), Lois Hulin (Johnny), and Lloyd LaFleur (Diane) all of Port Arthur; TX; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 at New St. John Baptist Church with the visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Rev. Claude Comeaux, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
