Mr. Clarence King
PORT ARTHUR - Mr. Clarence King, 53, of Port Arthur, Texas died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.
He was born on July 15, 1954, in Port Arthur, the eleventh child of Silas and Alma King. He was an Air Force veteran and a Baptist. Clarence was a loving and devoted father to his daughter Enger and a loving son and caregiver to his mother Alma. His smile was infectious and genuine. Preceding him in death were his mother and four brothers: Lee Arthur, Silas, John Henry, and R.L. (Robert Lee) King.
Cherishing loving memories of him are his devoted daughter, Enger Nikole King of Houston; his father, Silas King of Port Arthur; three brothers: Donald (Annette) King of Sugar Land, Leonard King of Houston, and Elijah (Debra) King of Sugar Land; four sisters: Rachel (Gary) Tanner of Katy, Maud Marie King of Port Arthur, Alma (Lester) Guillory of Beaumont, and Dorothy (Bobby) Pace of Texarkana; one uncle, James Cornell of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to thank Harbor Hospice House for their loving care and guidance. A graveside service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007 under the direction of Lockwood Funeral Home, Houston, Texas.
PORT ARTHUR - Adam Dorsey, of Port Arthur, died at St. Mary’s Hospital on Saturday, December 1, 2007. A native of New Iberia, LA, he was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for 40 years. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, December 7, 2007 from 12 pm - 3 pm at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is scheduled for 1 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, 609 W. Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, LA 70560. Burial will follow in Broussard Cemetery in New Iberia, LA.
Survivors include four sons, Torye D. Dorsey, John Osborne, Jamarious Osborne and Henry Osborne of Port Arthur, TX; two daughters, Beatrice Thompkins of Port Arthur, TX and Quardesa Osborne of Fort Worth, TX; one brother, Francis Phillip Dorsey (wife, Elaine) of New Iberia, LA; four sisters, Mary Vanderbilt, Annie Bell (husband, Edward), Gladys Dorsey and Brenda Moore of New Iberia, LA; a Special Companion, Marcella Bowie of Port Arthur, TX and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Allen Dorsey Jr. and Celestine Colbert Dorsey; three brothers, James Dorsey, Samuel Dorsey, and Clarence Dorsey; one sister, Joyce Lewis; maternal grandparents, Adam Colbert and Ozelia George Colbert; paternal grandparents, Allen Dorsey Sr., and Liza Washington Dorsey; and a nephew, Willie Vanderbilt Jr.
PORT NECHES - Billie Cain, 80, of Port Neches, was called home to be with the Lord on, Tuesday, December 4, 2007. She was a wonderful warmhearted wife of 55 years, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed life and was loved by all. Mrs. Cain was born on November 18, 1927 to John G, Lewis and Elma McMullen in Huntington, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School to three year olds for many years. She also enjoyed sewing and began oil painting in her 60’s. She is survived by her husband James Cain of Port Neches; four sons, James Cain, Jr. and his wife Angela of Spring, Kyle Cain of Sugar Land, Chris Cain of Port Neches, and John Cain and his wife Rachel Srader of Beaumont; two brothers, Joe Lewis of Buna, and Robert Lewis of Nederland; also two grandchildren, James Cain III of Spring, and Andrea Harbour and her husband Billy of Conroe; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Gracie Harbour of Conroe. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Dale Vance officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Lillie Mae Gaspard
PORT ARTHUR - Lillie Mae Gaspard, 85, of Port Arthur, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Senior Rehabilitation Center in Port Arthur. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2007 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves with Deacon Vernon Drummond officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday with a rosary to be recited at 6:00PM at Broussard’s in Nederland.
Mrs. Gaspard was a native of Cluerville, Louisiana and lived in Port Arthur for 65 years. She retired as a debt collector with the Port Arthur News for many years. Mrs. Gaspard was preceded in death by her husband Mason Gaspard and survived by her three sons, Tommy Gaspard and his wife Deanna of Nederland, Charles Gaspard of Laurel, Mississippi, and Kim Gaspard and his wife Denise of Nederland; one brother, Harold Rachal of Groves; three sisters, Mildred Walt of Alabama, Hazel Mills of Mississippi and Mel Azem of Aurora, Illinois; also eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
