PORT ARTHUR —
Gabriella Manerva Jackson was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 26, 2013.
She was born the eighth of nine children to the late Jessie Jackson, Jr. and Eva Mae Spears Jackson on November 25,1967.
Gabriella received Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a lifelong member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church which she loved dearly and where she served faithfully as Vacation Bible School Director, Sunday School Teacher, Youth and Young Adult Director, Graduation Ceremony Organizer, Mission Secretary, and was a member of Gospel Chorus, Daughter of Zion and Women of Divine Destiny.
Gabriella was a proud member and graduate of the Lincoln High School class of 1986. She attended North Texas State University and graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor of Administration in Finance in 1990. Gabriella was a devoted employee of the Texas Alcoholic & Beverage Commission until she retired in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her farther Jessie Jackson, Jr. and her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Eva Mae Spears Jackson; six sisters, Linda Babino (Haywood), Jessie M. Jackson of Port Arthur, Texas; Velena Pinkney of Jasper, Texas; Perrel Chambers, Judyette Jackson and Regina Cornell (Harold) of Port Arthur, Texas and two brothers, Mecheal Jackson, and Samuel Jackson of Port Arthur, Texas four God Children, Angie Moore, Jesse Cornell, Treylin Dixon, Daylan Raby; five aunts, four uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be March 4, 2013, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 248 E 18th St. Port Arthur, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral home.
