PORT ARTHUR —    Mary “Easter” Guidry Coleman, 95 years old of Port Arthur, TX passed away February 19, 2013 at The Medical Center Hospital in Port Arthur, TX. She was a resident of Port Arthur for 70 years.

   Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart-Saint Mary’s Catholic Church 920 Booker T. Washington Ave. in Port Arthur on March 2, 2013 from 8-9:15 a.m. Rosary at 9:15 a.m. and funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. with Father Charles Atuah, M.S.P. officiating.  Entombment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery Mausoleum, Nederland, Texas under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

   Mary was born in Maurice, Louisiana on April 15, 1917 to the late Paul Gerassin Guidry and Mary Chargois Guidry. A native of Abbeville, Louisiana where she attend Catholic School.

    A resident of Port Arthur for 70 years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart-Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Honorary member of KPC Lady Auxiliary Court 32. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Fishing.

   Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Elaman “Sha” Coleman, two daughters Dorothy B. Johnson, Deloris Washington, one grandson Talton Washington, two great grandsons Namon Marks Jr. and DeKlyin Oliver, her parents, Paul and Mary Guidry, three brothers Sidney Guidry, Whitney Guidry, and Wilfred Guidry Sr., four sisters Ammie Mitchell, Lorena Coleman, Gladys Hardy and Malanie Gage.

   Survivors include two daughters Mary Joyce Victor (Joseph) of Port Arthur, Texas, Tammy Harrison (Leonord) of Sulphur, Louisiana, 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 44 great-great grandchildren, 7 great-great-great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Elda Guidry of Beaumont, TX, God-Child Clifford Guidry (Carolyn) of Port Arthur, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends Nevada Conner, Francis Guillory and Linda Washington of Port Arthur, TX.
