PORT ARTHUR —
L.T. Ford, 74, of Port Arthur, Texas was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, TX. He was born in Rayville, LA but a resident of Port Arthur since 1957. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He was the owner and self-employed contractor for Ford’s Trucking Company. L.T. spent the majority of his spare time doing what he loved most “fishing”.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anuroy Ford and his parents Manish and Laurna Ford.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 25 years, Gloria Ford; 3 sons, Lonnie Ford and Ron Ford of Port Arthur, James Charlot of Humble, TX; 3 daughters, Charlyn Getwood of California, Laurna Peyton (Jimmy) of Arlington, TX, Carlise Charlot of Jacksonville, FL; 2 special children, Shavon March (Corey) and Tony Cooper of Dallas, TX; 1 sister, Ethel Kendricks of Kansas; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A wake service is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2013 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time with Father J.C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
