Wilford "Bobby" Malveaux Sr.

PORT ARTHUR —    Wilford “Bobby” Malveaux, Sr., 79 of Port Arthur, Texas, departed this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was born on January 8, 1935 to Roseline Thomas and Clarence Malveaux in Opelousas, Louisiana.

   He moved to Port Arthur at a very early age. Bobby was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1955. As a young man he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. where he served from 1952-1955 in the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years at Diamond Iron and Metal in Port Arthur, Texas.

   Bobby was well known for “His Tasty Praline Pecan Candy,” that he mastered. He was a member of Guiding Star M.B.C where he faithfully served as Sunday School Superintendent; Head of the Deacon Board and over the Treasurer Committee, and a member of the Male Chorus until his health began to fail.

   Bobby was preceded in death by his parents: Roseline Thomas-Dupree, Clarence Malveaux, stepfather: Charlie Dupree, Sr. Brothers:  Charlie Dupree, Jr., Calvin Dupree Sr., Sisters: Ruby Alice Dupree, and Rosetta Duhon-Texada, Daughter: Patricia Malveaux-Scypion, Granddaughter: Patrina Scypion-Minard.

   He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife: Mildred Malveaux, His sons: Wilford Malveaux Jr., (Laquinta), David Malveaux, all of Port Arthur, Edward Malveaux (Cynthia) of Bryan College Station, Christine Malveaux (former wife & mother of his children) Port Arthur, and Sisters: Betty Hilstock of Port Arthur, and Martha Searle of Jacksonville, AR. Aunt: Louella Arvie         (Kerry) of Beaumont, Texas, Angela Malveaux (former daughter in law), Dwight Scypion (son in law), Sedonia Deans (special family friend), 8 stepchildren, a host of grandchildren and great children, relatives and friends.

   Visitation is scheduled from 5pm-8pm Friday May 2, 2014 at Mount Calvary M.B.C. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00 am Mount Calvary MBC. Rev. Vernon Hudson of Guiding Star B. C. officiating. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery. Services under the direction of Hannah Funeral Home Port Arthur, Texas.
