PORT ARTHUR —
Eric James Lovilotte, 43, of Port Arthur, Texas, entered into eternal rest April 5, 2014. He was born October 25, 1970, in Los Angeles, California. He was a 1989 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and a 2000 graduate of Lamar University- Beaumont, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation. Eric was employed by Motiva Enterprises as a Process Operator. His community activities included the United Most Worshipful Joshua Grand Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Mason, and United Most Worshipful Scottish Rite Grand Lodge – Doric Lodge #95. Eric also served on the Pleasure Island Development Committee. He was a dedicated coach for various sports teams at the local Y.M.C.A.
Eric expressed a love for God at an early age. He was an active member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Ministry of Defense.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Ray Francis, Sr., brother, Curtis Ray Francis, Jr., and grandmother, Beatrice Lovilotte.
Eric leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Kenetia; sons, Nathaniel, Dante and Amori Lovilotte and Ron Taylor, and his mother, Earl Jean Francis, all of Port Arthur; sisters, Crystal Hinton (Lessell) and Rayetta Ryals (Joseph) of Stafford, TX; mother-in-law, Betty Jacobs; father-in-law, Joshua Comeaux, and sister-in -law, Marjorie Broussard (Joseph), all of Port Arthur; one nephew, Lahndon Hinton, future niece Jolei Ryals; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Homegoing services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. John R. Adolph officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
