The Port Arthur News
Sunni Gale Maddox, 2 years old, of Nederland, died June 14, 2013. Born March 16, 2011, in Port Arthur, Sunni is the daughter of Teela Cooley of Hamshire and Tracy Maddox of Nederland. From her love of cartoons to her sweet tiny smile, there are so many reasons everyone came into her life and fell in love with her. Sunni loved to dance and if you turned on music she would start dancing her little heart out. In her short little life, she had come to love so many things like coffee in the mornings while piled up watching her Scooby Doo and Spongebob. Then trying to get as many little tomatoes as she could in her mouth. Sunni loved to laugh. She could find any reason to laugh, and she had the sweetest laugh ever. But one thing we will always remember is her beautiful smile.
She is survived by, other than her parents, her brothers, “J.J.” Jesus Hernandez and Brayden Vaughn; sister, Rilee Maddox; grandparents, Clint Lewis, Sr., Jennifer Gibson, Edgar Maddox Sr., Sarina Miekelson, Edward Miekelson, Andrew McGowan, and Margaret McGowan; and great -grandparents, Alicia and Jim Moore and Charles and Diane Lewis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving family members.
Sunni was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carolyn Maddox; and great-grandfather, Edward Cooley.
