Marjorie Claire Collier Bailey

BEAUMONT —    Marjorie Claire Collier Bailey, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2013 in Pensacola, FL.

   Marjorie was born in Campti LA, on April 24, 1925, the daughter of Charles C. and Bonnie Collier.  Marjorie and James Vernon Bailey married in 1945.  Vernon passed away on November 9, 1987.

   Marjorie graduated from Campti Sr. High School, and then attended Northwestern College in Natchitoches, LA where she earned a teaching degree.

   She had worked as a schoolteacher in the Port Arthur, TX area. It was in Port Arthur where she and Vernon married.   She and Vernon opened Bailey’s Boat Shop in Groves, Texas where they both worked until they retired and moved to Woodville, TX to live on their small farm.

   She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Peninger (Jim) of Boerne, TX and Kay Blanchard (Darrell) of Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by her brother Charles C. Collier of Spring,TX formerly of New Braunfels, TX, as well as her as four grandchildren, Shara Hawkins (Randy), Rhea Bagnell (Dave), Cody Peninger and Brandon Blanchard (Alisha).  There are also 2 great grandchildren, Cole and Logan Hawkins, and two step great grand children, Mackenzie and Hunter Feazel.

   The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Covenant Hospice & Sterling House Assisted Living facility in Pensacola, FL for their support in her final days.

   Private family services will be held.
